Help Your Kids Enjoy the Fireworks Without All the Noise
Hi parents, I hope you’re having an awesome fourth of July weekend - bbq-ing, maybe you got some time off work, hanging out with your kids, that kind of thing.
Something you’re probably going to think about doing this weekend is fireworks! Something I hear from a lot of parents on different forums is ‘should we go to fireworks? Is it really worth taking a small child?
My suggestion is to get a pair of earmuffs. These are safety earmuffs that we actually purchased at the hardware store. We got ours at Home Depot, but you can get them anywhere like that - ACE, Lowes, that kind of thing. And these are mechanics earmuffs. You can find them in the hearing protection section.
They look smaller than they are. They’re made for adults but can be adjusted for kids. YOu need to look for some that are adjustable. Then we bought some tape - Duck tape makes a bazillion kinds of patterns now - she covered hers with tape, super simple.
What they do, is expand to fit over ears. They do an amazing job - better than a lot of brands that are marketed to directly to parents for children for this specific purpose. Now you’ll see that these fit me really well, but what you need is a kind that adjust to a smaller head.
Pick yourself up a pair of these - they were 10 or 15 bucks, and they’re going to go right over their ears protected from the loud sounds of the fireworks, and make it enjoyable for all of you.
